Fighting food insecurity in local communities.

Good nutrition is vital to the growth and overall health of youngsters.  SBCO supports the Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB) which serves families living in Mammoth, San Manuel, Oracle and the Dudleyville/Aravaipa area. In this rural area, 20% of households live below the poverty level and 10% are below 50% of the poverty level.

How we are helping

Annual Food Drive

Each year SBCO hosts a Food Drive in which SaddleBrooke and SaddleBrooke Ranch residents donate money and food products. Since 1999, more than 140 tons of food and nearly $1.2 million have been collected in donations.

Purchased Food

In addition to the Food Drive, SBCO purchases perishable foods for distribution by TCFB.
The Hayden/Winkleman Supplemental Food Program is funded by SBCO and managed/implemented by the Hayden/Winkleman School District. The fund covers Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Baskets, school vacation supplemental home meals, and snacks/refreshments for school events such as field days, Math and Science night, etc.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Funded by SBCO, volunteers from SaddleBrooke and SaddleBrooke Ranch order, pick-up, compile and deliver Thanksgiving baskets to Oracle and San Manuel/Mammoth. Designated students in Mammoth/San Manuel also receive food bags to cover breakfast and lunch for the winter holiday break, when such meals are not available through the school.

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are always needed for the Annual Food Drive in March. If you’d like to help please email sbco.fooddrive@community-outreach.org.
