Scholarship Endowment
Endowed gifts ensure that qualifying students in need will receive support from SaddleBrooke Community Outreach for generations to come.
Post–high school education is known to contribute to higher earnings, better job prospects, and stronger long‑term economic stability. In the communities we support, where unemployment and poverty levels are considerably higher than state and national averages, education is the key to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Unfortunately, graduates often lack the resources to pursue the training and education that will change their future, and that of their children.
This need led to the establishment of the SBCO Scholarship Endowment Fund as a way to support deserving students. Our endowment provides a dependable source of funding for generations of students to come.
What is an endowment and why is it important?
The SBCO Scholarship Endowment Fund is a restricted fund of money that is invested so it can provide support for scholarships year after year. A percentage of earnings are distributed each year to scholarship recipients.
The endowment allows SBCO to continue funding scholarships to our most vulnerable students regardless of economic or market volatility. Because we award multi-year scholarships, this consistency is especially important.
Why contribute to an endowment?
By making a gift to the SBCO Scholarship Endowment Fund, you are investing in the future of area students and their families. It is a meaningful way to ensure that the value you place on education will continue long after your lifetime. Your gift creates a legacy of learning that changes lives.
Gifts to the Scholarship Endowment Fund may also provide tax benefits to the donor. We encourage you to consult with your attorney or tax advisor for advice on your specific situation.
