Hwi-Eun Kim, from Daegu, Korea, began studying violin at age 7. When she was 13, she entered The Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Joseph Silverstein and Ida Kavafian; she later continued her studies with Donald Weilerstein and Ronald Copes at The Juilliard School in New York City. She has appeared as a soloist and a chamber musician in numerous venues with many orchestras, including a recent performance as a soloist with the Korea Youth Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall in New York City. Her recital and chamber music performances are regularly heard across three continents. Ms. Kim is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, studying with Glenn Dicterow.
