Jacqueline Greenshields received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1979. By 1981 she had earned her Master of Music degree in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California where she was a student of Gabor Rejto. For three of those summers during her university years, she attended the Music Academy of the West where she fell in love with Santa Barbara. Upon moving to Santa Barbara in 1983 she became and is currently the principal cellist of the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra. She is a long time member of the Santa Barbara Symphony as well as Opera Santa Barbara.
She was also a member of the American Sinfonietta, a professional touring and recording Chamber Orchestra that traveled extensively throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as being the focal point in the summer music festival in Bellingham, Washington. Jackie is very active as a chamber musician and is a member of the "Classics IV String Quartet" and the "Archangelo Flute Quartet". She has a full studio of private cello students young and old. She enjoys reading, long distance bicycle touring, scuba diving, hiking, and dachshunds.
